Kane

My absolute favorite dutch rock band…Kane! They absolutely rock :) And now I discover they made a new single! Yeez, I definitely missed something the last couple of months.

The first time I ever heard of them was in 2000/2001, when I saw the clip of Let it be on a local television station. I immediately loved the song. Judge it yourself:

The Alchemist, The Zahir and the Warrior of Light

The Alchemist by Paulo CoelhoThe Zahir by Paulo CoelhoManual for the Warrior of Light by Paulo Coelho

As promised: a post on Paulo Coelho and what his books meant to me personally. The first book I read, or rather listened to as it was an audio version, was The Alchemist. I guess that’s the book he is most known for. The thing that striked me the most about the whole story, is that everyone has to live his own personal legend and thus contributes to the soul of the world. Follow the signs that cross your path, learn to recognise them.Even as a kid I always kind of felt out of place, like something is missing. I still do feel that way at times, but at least now I have a vague idea of what causes that feeling.I do believe everyone has some sort of path to follow, a purpose to be on this earth. I haven’t discovered what mine is yet, though. And maybe I never will. As being a HSP (highly sensitive person) I have learnt through the years that I look at things in a different way and experience things (sounds, smells, moods of others) in a different way than most people do (I see a post about HSP coming up). I guess that too has something to do with the whole follow your own personal legend thing. I suppose it all connects to each other somehow. You are who you are for a reason although one can change, off course.

The second book I read, was The Zahir. Read the rest of this entry »

The American Dream

A quick post in between the last one and the one about Warrior of the Light (working on that one ;) )
I saw Coyote Ugly today. I have seen it years ago, when it was just released. I loved it then and I still love it now. For me it represents the american dream. It’s basically a feel good movie where a girl has a dream and moves to the big city to become a famous songwriter. Off course she gets her tapes send back from the agency’s, has to live in practically a dumpster (a two bedroom flat somewhere in a bad neighborhood), needs a job to be able to pay the bills and eat, meets a boy, fights with him and separate and in the end all turns out all right, you get the picture :)
If you haven’t watched it, I think you should, it’s a great movie. A lot of fun watching, even though the happy ending is pretty obvious. It always makes me think that if you set your mind to something and give it all, you can become anything you want, accomplish anything you want, be who ever you want to be :) So get out there and chase your dreams!
And the best part about the whole movie? The songs, off course (with Can’t fight the moonlight as absolute favorite) :) And for the guys quite some eye candy ;)

New poems and what else comes to mind

I don’t update this as much as I wanted to. I don’t have (or take) the time. Always busy, if even with doing nothing. In these days that is a virtue, being able to do absolutely nothing ;) Next time I will do a post on one of my favorite writers, being Paulo Coelho :) Maybe add a sidebar with quotes in it of the Warrior of the Light
I have placed some new poems on the poetry page. For some reason I find myself almost always writing my poems in verses with 4 lines per verse. I don’t know where that is coming from :)

Let’s see, what else. Read the rest of this entry »
